Frequently Asked Questions
Who is your photographer and can I see other work?
Our photographer is Doug Fike. (he's the husband, father & father-in-law of the Km66 co-founders) You can see his work here: www.worldviewphotography.com. You'll get a good window into the travel that we've done over the years, and why we are inspired to give back to the amazing communities we visit.
What is the training program?
We've developed a complete course which takes someone with no sewing skills and trains them in all the rudimentary skills needed to be able to sew for themselves and their families.
What is your hope for the training program?
Our hope is that we can inspire a woman to take the basic skills she's acquired and then develop them into a marketable skill. For those who want to take it further, they can learn upholstery skills and basic tailoring in order to be a part of our long-term dream to start a worker-owned sewing cooperative to serve the DC and Northern Virginia makers marketplace.
What will it look like if you are successful?
Our training process would be duplicated in multiple cities around the US and worker-owned sewing co-ops and upholstery business would be thriving.
I'd like to send a scarf as a gift. Can I do that?
Sure! When you check out you will have the option of entering the mailing address of the lucky recipient. Or, for an extra $5 we will write a handwritten note and wrap your gift with care. They'll be wowed... we promise!
When will i receive my scarf?
We know you it's hard to wait for your purchase! This is our first collection, and to keep our prices low, we may have to make your scarf to order. Delivery may be up to 21-25 business days. We can't guarantee a delivery date for international orders, as shipping time varies.
What is my scarf made of and how should I care for it?
Our scarves are made from a silk-modal blend. We recommend hand-washing your scarf in cold water and hanging it to dry, and then light ironing it to remove wrinkles. You can always send it to the dry-cleaner, if you don’t love hand-washing clothing (we hear you).
Do you accept returns?
Yes! If you are unhappy with your purchase and would like to return your item(s), please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 30 days of delivery, and we will send you instructions. Click here for our full Shipping and Return Policies.
