There are some days when you reach for comfortable favorites, and others which require bright statements.

This print started off as way-finding signage in the city of Toledo, and has since taken its rightful place in our closets as an instant pick-me-up and guaranteed show-stopper for those days when we want to make an entrance.

Our scarves measure 48" x 48" and are made from a carefully chosen blend of 30% silk and 70% modal, making them ethereal, wispy, and softer than these pictures can portray.

Keep on scrolling for lots of styling inspiration and the story behind the photo.

‘Collecting’ images while traveling is a good way to train your eye to pick up on whole categories of things you might otherwise simply not “see”. “Doors/windows of the world”, “market still life”, “people recreating”, “reflections on water”, “door locks & knockers” … the potential list is endless.

Simply naming them & reminding yourself “I collect those!” will help you spot cool stuff that could easily just blend into the landscape. (Systematically saving and keywording them becomes an important next step in later finding them amongst your mass of pictures, to actually do something with them - but that’s a topic for another day!).

I also collect signs: interesting commercial signage on buildings, quirky mis-translated instructions for tourists, and road signs. This one in Toledo - historic center of Spanish Catholicism and fiery heart of the Spanish Inquisition - leapt out. Cathedral … grouped with permanent expositions on The Templars and other Military Orders and, last but definitely not least, the definitive collection of Ancient Instruments of Torture.

Searing historical vignette. Interesting options for an afternoon in Toledo. And such happy colors!
