We don't share anything with you unless we know with certainty that the artisan is paid a fair and living wage.
We believe in a simple premise — the products bought and sold every day are connected to the livelihood of others. But as we traveled we kept discovering amazing artisans who all shared one common thread. They lacked access to a broader market. Thus, our mission began.
We celebrate the people behind each product we make or highlight. At the same time, we also believe that beautiful items should not just be for the beautiful people to be able to afford. If we can’t meet these two values, then you won’t find it here.
That’s the Both/And.
HERE’S HOW WE WORK
When we find an artisan doing amazing work, we can’t help but share it with our closest friends. We love highlighting the work of independent makers and social enterprises. These discoveries become our pop-up events.
The world is full of amazing craft traditions, passed down from one generation to the next. But sometimes they don’t quite jive with the lives we live or homes we establish. That’s why we love to collaborate and co-design products that speak to our customers. Our artisan partners don’t want charity — they want opportunity.
Most of the things we create in-house are birthed by simple problem-solving. Turns out, we’re pretty picky about what we bring home. When we find ourselves saying “I wish I could find…” we roll up our sleeves and get to work. And we create meaningful employment along the way.
When we meet a maker that’s not quite the right fit for us, we begin thinking of how to connect them to the right person. Sometimes all that’s needed is a push in the right direction. There’s nothing like cheering on a fellow venturer.
